TALLAHASSEE Fla.-- The Florida Bar is warning the public that if you received an email with the subject line "Florida Bar Association Past Due Invoice," do not open it.
The Association says the email is a virus and no one should click on it or its links, just delete it immediately.
The email was distributed Monday May 9th throughout the Florida Bar and to external users.
The Association warns that the virus takes over computers, and holds files for a ransom.
The Florida Bar says the malicious email looks as if it actually came from the bar.
It's not clear yet how many people are affected and how many people received the e-mail.
They say to check to see if any of your files have been renamed, if you see a lot of files unexpectedly renamed that is a sign that you have been affected by this e-mail Virus.
