VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Police have made another arrest regarding an incident in Valdosta where officers say over a dozen people tried to prevent them from making a drug arrest.

Valdosta police say they have arrested Shermell Jackson for misdemeanor obstruction in the case.

On Monday, officers say they went to make an arrest after seeing a drug deal through the city wide camera system.

During the incident, police say they were surrounded by 15-20 people who tried to prevent them from arresting an accused drug dealer.

At the time of the incident, 6 people were arrested and a seventh was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Police say they are still looking to identify and arrest several others who were involved in the incident.
