LOGANVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man suspected of carjacking and kidnapping an elderly woman in Walton County.
The Walton County Sheriff's Office tells local news outlets that 29-year-old John Christopher Calhoun kidnapped an unidentified 81-year-old woman from her Loganville home and put her in the trunk of her vehicle Sunday.
Authorities later located the vehicle and a brief chase ensued. The vehicle eventually crashed and the suspect fled on foot.
Sheriff Joe Chapman says officials rescued the woman from the car and brought her to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators were currently searching for Calhoun, who's considered armed and dangerous. Officials believe the incident is related to a string of car break-ins.
