WINTER PARK, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say three teens have been arrested and charged in the October beating death of another teen in an upscale Orlando-area suburb.
The Orlando Sentinel (https://goo.gl/9Rcxes ) reports that two 15-year-old boys are facing manslaughter and battery charges, and a 14-year-old boy has been charged with tampering with a witness.
Winter Park Police Lt. Pam Marcum says 15-year-old Roger Trindade got into a confrontation with the other boys Oct. 15 and was brain dead by the time he arrived at a hospital. He was taken off life support two days later.
Marcum says investigators have known who was involved in the fight but were waiting for the medical examiner to confirm the cause of death before making an arrest.
Police haven't released details about what led to the confrontation.
