TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The former Richards High School teacher accused of sexual battery against four students pled no contest in court on Monday.

According to court documents William Cullen pled no contest to four counts of misdemeanor battery.

He was only facing misdemeanor charges because the victims were at least 17 years old, according to the State Attorney's Office.

Cullen turned himself over to deputies in February after being accused of inappropriately touching a student.

At the time, deputies said, "The student alleged that while getting 'one on one' help from Cullen, he touched the student's thigh and buttocks area."

During the investigation, three other students also said the teacher had touched them.

Cullen will spend 75 days in sheriff work camp and then face 4 years of probation, according to the courts.

He must also surrender his teaching certificate, is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with unrelated minors, and must undergo mental health and sexual risk treatment.

According to the State Attorney's Office, Cullen will not have to register as a sex offender because he was facing misdemeanor charges.
