TALLAHASSEE, FL -- The rain barrel workshop will educate participants on why and how to use rain barrels, including a hands-on demonstration on how to build one. Experts say the use of rain water to nourish plants has the potential to save on utility bills.

The workshop is presented by UF/IFAS Leon County staff and staff from the City of Tallahassee's TAPP program.

The urban forestry workshop is a chance for area citizens to learn about and participate in the creation of an urban forest management plan. This plan will help determine how best to maintain and enhance the trees in our urban environment.

The first edition of the workshop will be Tuesday, July 26th from 10am-11:30am at the Leon County Extension office, 615 Paul Russell Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32301.
