TALLAHASSEE, FL - It's all about girl power this summer with the Big Bend Habitat for Humanity.

"Women Build 2016" kicks off on Saturday.

Antoine Wright, Executive Director and Nolah Shotwell, Development Director with Big Bend Habitat for Humanity joined Midday to talk about the event.

They are excited to announce Women Build 2016. Women Build is Habitat for Humanity's initiative is designed to recruit, educate and empower women to break stereotypes and fight poverty housing. Women Build will engage over 300 female volunteers on our construction site.

Each Saturday, starting May 7th- June 25th women will be building a home from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The construction site is 3001 Wainwright Street in Tallahassee.
