MONTICELLO, FL - In our WTXL Road Trip Series, Friday Anchor Christine Souders checked out some of the goodies at Tupelo's Bakery.
Here's What's to Eat at Tupelo's Bakery: bread and pastries, cake and lunch items.
History behind the Monticello Business:
Tupelo's first opened it's doors in the fall of 2007.
Kim Davis graduated from University of New Hampshire with a degree in Anthropology and French in 1992.
Eager to start a career in Archaeology, she found her first job out of college as a baker's assistant.
Davis worked as an archaeological field tech for a number of years throughout Florida, but found her interests lied elsewhere, everything food, cooking, baking, reading about food science and history, and of course tasting!
Over the years, she worked with a number of talented chefs and found herself fulfilling a life long dream of openign a cafe.
Davis contributes her success to her friend and business partner Claire Olson to making Tupelo's what it is today.
A bakery serving food that comes from many local farms, and is produced in a manner that is safe both for the humans consuming it and for the animals and land where it is produced.
Although Claire has moved on to other exciting adventures in her life, and Davis said she's committed to serving the best possible food, for which Tupelo's has become known!
