VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) -- The City of Valdosta is looking for volunteers to help honor veterans
City leaders are hosting "Project Pay It Forward."
They're looking for volunteers to help plant seven trees that pay tribute to area vets. The trees will then be dedicated after a Veterans Day ceremony, set for 10 a.m. on November 11 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
If you can take part in the tree plant, organizers are meeting on Saturday, November 7, from from 9 a.m. until noon at the American Legion Post 13 (1301 Williams Street).
Volunteers should bring gloves and other yard tools. Organizers say the work will involve planting trees, pulling weeds, placing pine straw, and other yard maintenance.
For more information or to volunteer, contact Engineering Department Assistant Director Emily Davenport at (229) 259-3530.
