TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Friday, December 12, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is offering free child safety seat inspections at their location, 234 East 7th Avenue, Tallahassee, Florida.
TPD is teaming up with Safe Kids Worldwide to check the seats to verify they are properly installed.
Florida law currently requires children five years old and younger, ride in a federally approved child restraint device.
According to TPD, Effective January 1, 2015 the NEW CHILD RESTRAINT LAW will require children six years of age or younger to be placed in federally approved child restraint devices. The change will extend the age from the present five years to six.
