TALLAHASSEE, FL - We're only days away from this year's "Springtime Tallahassee."

Director for Springtime Tallahassee Charitable Foundation Jack Diestelhorst and Chairwoman Carol Leon joined WTXL Sunrise Anchor Christine Souders to talk about the beloved event!

This is the 48th Year for Springtime Tallahassee. Events kick off Friday with the Musical Festival in Kleman Plaza, featuring county singer Josh Turner.

Saturday is the annual 10k Run beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Annual Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade and Jubilee in the Park.

"Let the FUNshine In" is the theme of the 48th Annual Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade on April 2nd. The grand parade will take over the streets of downtown Tallahassee from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The parade will be aired live right here on WTXL ABC 27 and online at wtxl.tv.

The parade which has a rich history. Springtime Tallahassee, Inc. came to fruition in 1967 as an organization dedicated to keeping Tallahassee as the state's capital. In 1967, Florida had its first Legislature based on reappointment when Southern and Central Florida Legislators suggested moving the capitol to Orlando. Local business and civic leaders met behind closed doors to map their strategy to keep the state's capital in Tallahassee, which we now as today as Springtime Tallahassee!
