TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Dozens of people showed up at the North Florida Fairgrounds for the 6th Annual Southside Community Health and Fitness Fair.
Health professionals were on hand giving lectures, while various medical organizations offerd health screenings. There were a variety of fitness clinics and demos.
"We're trying to reach out to the community and educate them about treating their bodies. The biggest thing that we want to do as a church is to let the community know we embrace the community and want to uplift them in the best possible way we can," said Leonard Newton, the pastor at Marantha Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
NFL player Ernie Sims was also at the event giving guests fitness tips and advice on how to stay healthy and active.
