TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) hosted its 13th annual First Responder Appreciation Luncheon today.

The event took place at the Tallahassee Automobile and Collectibles Museum.

Although hosted by LCSO, dozens of other organizations were present at the event, including several police departments, sheriff's offices, fire fighters, paramedics, and even military. Hundreds of officials from counties all across the area were at the event.

"Sometimes, things go unnoticed and this is important that we take time to just pat each other on the back, break bread together, fellowship, and have a good time and enjoy each others' company," said LCSO spokesperson Lt. James McQuaig.

The first annual event began in late 2001.

The event is meant as a tribute to all the men and women who serve the public.

Organizations were all able to have lunch and honor each others' hard work and dedication.
