TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Saturday, September 6, 2014, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated - Chi Theta Zeta Chapter will host the 6th annual Community Baby Shower. It will take place from 11 AM to 3 PM at Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Rd. The event is free to the public.
Organizers say the Goals of the Community Baby Shower are to educate the community about prenatal care, reducing the risk of infant mortality and premature birth, and planning for pregnancy along with offering social support.
The Community Baby Shower will include lunch, shower games, health exhibitors, a free health screenings and workshops. Participants will also have access to "shop" for items they need, which are donated by community partners and members including diapers, pack in play and clothing items for both mother and baby.
Chi Theta Zeta says the intended audience for this program includes pregnant women, fathers and other social support members. In the past this event has drawn over 200 participants annually.
