TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee Community College commenting on budget cuts made by the Florida legislature to community colleges.
TCC's President, Jim Murdaugh, saying that the legislature is taking more than one million dollars across the board from the community colleges operating budget.
Murdough says he does not have the exact dollar amount yet, but he says the cut will limit their ability to help students.
"It limits our ability to hire faculty, it limits our ability to hire advisors and provide consulting services to students. So it really constrains our ability to do the kinds of things that helps students succeed, said Murdaugh.
Murdough says, that once they find out exactly how much the cut will be, he will need to meet with the committee to go over the budget for next year.
