TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Leon County Library is hosting a free summer reading program, and lots of activities throughout the summer to get kids involved.

Everything kicks-off with the Super Hero Training Academy. Elementary-age students and younger get a super hero name and power, get to design their costume and even put their skills to the test.

It's all to encourage kids to head to any Leon County Library during the summer and read for 20 minutes a day.

Deirdre Baldwin and Mary Douglas joined us on WTXL Midday for all the information. Click the thumbnail to see the interview.

The Super Hero Training Academy is Saturday, May 30 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at all library branches throughout Leon County. For more information, call (850) 606-2665 or click here.
