TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Here's your chance to kick off the holiday season with a family favorite.
The Young Actors Theatre is putting on A Christmas Carol, The Musical.
The play tells of the classic Charles Dickens tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, who is forced to face his selfish ways one Christmas Eve, when he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Organizers say, "there are many adaptations of A Christmas Carol, but only one Broadway musical version, which breathes fantastic new life into the classic tale."
All of the songs are written by Alan Menken, who is best known for composing some classic songs from Disney's The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast.
The also is also extra special for the Young Actors Theatre, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. A Christmas Carol was the first show produced by the group's founder.
A Christmas Carol, The Musical runs November 13 through 22. There's also an abbreviated children’s matinee on Saturday, November 21 at 11 a.m.
Performances are at the Young Actors Theatre (609 Glenview Drive). Tickets are $14 for kids 12 and under; $16 for students; $18 for seniors and $20 for adults.
