CHATTAHOOCHEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Runners, pucker up!
Chattahoochee Main Street is again hosting a special 5K this Valentine's weekend: the Chattahoochee Smoochie.
Organizers say, "Runners will enjoy a peaceful early morning run/walk starting near the banks of the beautiful Apalachicola River and extending through our charming historic downtown district and historic residential district lined with ancient live oak trees."
Since this month is all about the love, the race shows some local love to the area. All the proceeds will be used for beautification projects of the downtown historic district.
Those involved say the event is for runners and walkers of all abilities. For safety reasons, bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and pets are and the use of headphones is discouraged.
The Chattahoochee Smoochie is Saturday, February 13 at the Chattahoochee Landing on River Landing Road. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m.
Cost for the 5K is $30 for adults and $20 for kids 14 and under. The one-mile fun run is free.
