MIDWAY, FL (WTXL) - The day has arrived.
It's August 21, 2017, when the moon will move between the sun and the earth.
The last solar eclipse to pass over the United States happened 38 years ago in 1979.
That one was only visible in Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, Oregon and Washington.
Every state in the country will experience at least a partial solar eclipse, depending on cloud coverage.
In our region, the best visibility of the eclipse will be at 2:40 in the afternoon.
The next solar eclipse to cross a portion of the United States will be in 2024.
