MIDWAY, FL - Volunteers from all over the Big Bend are coming together to visit over 300 classrooms to read classic books to students for Read United 2018.

C.E.O./President of United Way of the Big Bend Katrina Rolle and Rebecca Weaver, the Director of Impact Strategies for United Way of the Big Bend joined Malcolm Hornsby on Second Cup.

Read United is May 7th though 11th in 8 counties, with 200 volunteers, 300 classrooms, and 4,500 books in just 5 days.

This year, United Way of the Big Bend will engage READ UNITED volunteers to read classic tales like The Cat in the Hat and Curious George in every first grade public school classroom in the eight-county Big Bend region.

To encourage a love of reading, READ UNITED provides every first grade student with a brand new, FREE book to build their home library.

Through READ UNITED, UWBB has distributed over 35,000 free books over the past eight years.
