MIDWAY, FL - Second Cup on Tuesday, Grayson Walters with Tallahassee Animal Services and Dolly the American Bulldog joined WTXL's Christine Souders and Malcolm Hornsby.

The topic centered around July 4th Celebrations and how your pet handles loud bangs from fireworks and loud crowds.

Walter said it's not a good idea to bring your dog to a public Fireworks Display.

She said it's because dogs either go in flight or fight mode because of the surroundings.

It's not just the way dogs act, but how people act too.

With large crowds and potentially intoxicated individuals, people may not be sensitive to how dogs are feeling and overstep boundaries which could occur in a dog running away or worse, potential for a dog bite as a defense mechnism.

Also, when leaving pets at home during the festivities, keep in mind they can hear the loud bangs from the show or people setting off fireworks on their own.

Good idea to leave the TV on, or crate a dog to alleviate fear
