QUINCY, FL (WTXL) - One community event will raise awareness about bike safety.
Race Coordinator Pete Butler shared details about the Steve Reker Memorial and Gadsden County Stage Race.
It's hosted by the Gadsden County Tourist Development Council.
There is a two-fold benefit.
It's an opportunity to raise awareness about cycling and cycling safety.
It also provides the opportunity to introduce people to the beauty of Gadsden County, a community that loves cycling and has been committed to showcasing its community and healthy living over the past several years through support of this event.
On Saturday the local community comes out and enjoys connecting and enjoying the offerings from the local vendors.
It turns into a wonderful community gathering, with people picnicking, visiting with their neighbors and enjoying bike racing.
Sunday is very much the same and to make it even more fun, a live band called "Two Foot Level" will be playing throughout the event.
This is in cooperation with USA Cycling and TopView Sports
