MIDWAY, FL - Big topic over the weekend was the midnight release of the anticipated extension of the Harry Potter Franchise.
The new book is now in stores, nearly 10 years after the final installment of J.K. Rowling's popular series.
The midnight release of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" was fitting.
Sunday was both Rowling's and Potter's Birthday.
However, the latest book is not a novel and it's not written by Rowling.
It's actually the script of a stage production running in London.
The playwright's collaborated with Rowling on the story.
Based on pre-order sales, the latest installment could become the top selling book of 2016 for Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Now for the midnight release, thousands lined up at bookstores nationwide dressed up as their favorite character.
