MIDWAY, FL - Today on Second Cup. Anchor Christine Souders talks with Rebecca Kelly-Manders, the owner of Street Chefs and Head of Refire Culinary about a fundraising event.

It's called "A Night on Refire" and it's being held Thursday (May 31, 2017) from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mission San Luis.

The event will raise money for Refire, a culinary training program for people with felony convictions.

This program provided basic skills training, job experience and job placement support.

The curriculum is developed by professional chefs and culinary educators and will prepare graduates to fill a significant talent gap in Tallahassee's retail food sector.

General admission tickets include a plated meal prepared by classically trained chefs, complimentary beer, wine and a signature cocktail, live entertainment and complimentary valet parking.

VIP tickets include access to an exclusive Happy Hour with a complimentary drink and special gift.

Our speaker is Brandon Chrostowski, who founded Edwins Leadership and Restaurant Institute in Cleveland in 2013.

As of last year, he had graduated 130 people since opening and had 50 Ohio restaurants on a waiting list to hire his students.
