TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Governor Rick Scott met with top scientists from around Florida Tuesday about climate change.
It's the same group of scientists who wrote to him in July, offering to explain why he must act soon to comply with federal climate-change requirements. Scott turned down the invitation last month, but then his opponent for re-election, former governor Charlie Crist, met with the group.
Florida must submit a plan to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency within the year, explaining how the state plans to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions 38% by the year 2030.
