QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Quincy Fire Department is proud of its position in the community.
The firefighters are always working for the safety of its residents, even when there isn't an emergency.
Last year alone, the department handed out hundreds of smoke detectors in just three months. Residents can also call to get on a wait list if they're in need of a smoke alarm.
Firefighters can also do safety checks at your home. If you call and request, crew members can install a smoke detector and make sure your home is safe.
Recently, the department improved its rating to a Class 4, meaning residents will see a slight decrease in their insurance rates.
