TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- There's a local push to bring a story of wartime survival to area classrooms.
Two Regimes- A Mother's Memoir of Wartime Survival is a collection of artwork and manuscripts.
It tells the story of Teodora Verbitskya and her young daughters, Nadia and Lucy, before, during and after World War II.
Now, local volunteers have teamed up with the Foundation for Leon County Schools. The goal is to provide free guides & lesson plans for grades K-12.
The group recently received a grant from the State of Florida, Division of Cultural Affairs. Now, they're working to get matching funds so the free lessons can be shared with 30,000 across the state.
