North Florida Water Festival at Cascades Park on March 7

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Saturday, March 7, 2015, the Big Bend Chapter of the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) in cooperation with the City of Tallahassee Utilities, invites everyone out to the North Florida Water Festival at Cascades Park from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The free, inaugural event will feature fun-filled educational experiences designed for the whole family, including learning the importance of water to our daily lives and environment. Organizers say highlights include fun and informative demonstrations by area water professionals, food trucks, children's games, a water mascot contest, nutrition and gardening tips, face painting and many other activities. More than 15 educational booths will be located on Meridian Plaza.

In addition, there will be live entertainment at the Capital City Amphitheater.

At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Leon High School drama students will perform the Florida Public Service Commission's original play Water Wiser. At noon, Tallahassee's Dance Electric Dance Academy teams will take the stage.
