NAACP Hosting Dinner to Honor Community Members

MIDWAY, FL.(WTXL)-- Equal opportunity for all is the theme for this year's NAACP 37th Annual Freedom Fund and Awards Dinner.

Great food and music is promised and local community members are to be honored for their contribution.

Dr. Lonnie Randolph, Jr., President of the South Carolina State Conference of the NAACP will also be in attendance as a keynote speaker for the event.

WillieMae Musgray, Chairperson for the Freedom Fun and Awards Banquet, and Dale Landry, President of the Tallahassee Branch of the NAACP shared more information on the event and the impact the organization has on the community.

The event is 60 dollars and is Thursday, June 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

1.  The Tallahassee Branch Partnership Award - To Leon County Schools, Superintendent Jackie Pons

2.  The George W. Conley Community Service Award -  To  The Martin Luther King Foundation, Steve Beasley, Director

3.  The James Hudson Citizenship/Humanitarian Award -  To Delatrie Hollinger

4.  The Tallahassee NAACP Branch Award - Natalie Word

5.  The Rev. Charles Kenzie Steele Civil Rights Award -  Nancy Daniels, public Defender

6.  Tallahassee Branch NAACP President's Award - The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce
