TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Mission San Luis in Tallahassee will be hosting an event of special activities to celebrate Florida's history and encourage tourism in the area.
WTXL's Malcolm Hornsby met with Living History Interpreter Luis Moreno to discuss the event.
As part of Tallahassee's T.O.U.R initiative, which stands for Tourism is Our Unlimited Resource, Mission San Luis will be offering a free day for all ages which will feature interactive activities that celebrate the history of old Florida.
The historic Mission San Luis in Tallahassee will offer special activities that are unique to Florida's only reconstructed 17th century mission. These include archery, primitive weapon drills, blacksmithing demonstrations, and crafts for children.
The event will take place this Saturday, July 16th from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Admission is free for all ages, but visitors are encouraged to bring donations for a back-to-school supply drive that will benefit local students.
