GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A manhunt underway in the U.S. after a Facebook user kills a man and posts it on his page.

The search expanded to five states. The shooter behind the video has been identified as Steve Stephens.

Today, local law enforcement in Gadsden County addressed the effects of social media saying they see the good and the bad when it comes to these websites. They say, they are seeing more cases of cyber bullying or fights on the internet, but now they can also use social media to their advantage as a way to find evidence.

"Anytime there are some criminal activities that is put out there on social media, it can be used against you. So just like kids that are in school you know and they like to record bullying and they put it on social media. They like to record fights and they put it on social media. Yes it is a plus for us because we gain intel by iding those subjects", said Sgt. Anglie Hightower.
