Liberty County Officials Search for Escaped Inmate

LIBERTY COUNTY Fla.--  The Liberty County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who they say escaped from the second floor of the Liberty County Jail on Sunday June 6th.

Officials say they discovered Everett Jedadiah Ellis had escaped from the second floor confinement area of the Liberty County Jail on Sunday June 6th.

They say Ellis was able to gain access to the outside of the building and make his way onto the roof and fled on foot from there.

Ellis is a white male, who is about 5'7" and weighs about 160lbs. He has Brown hair, Brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a light in color shirt and khaki pants, wearing "croc" type shoes.

Ellis was last seen at the Crows Comer convenience store located at 29102 SR 20 Hosford Fl., Liberty County. This is near the Leon County Liberty County Line at the Ochlockonee River near at the intersection of SR267 and Hwy20.

Ellis is serving an 11 month 29 day sentence for drug related charges.

Deputies say it is unknown if Ellis is or has become armed since the time of the escape.

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office says they are calling in the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force for assistance in apprehending this escaped inmate.

According to authorities there are currently outstanding charges for Everett Jedadiah Ellis for Escape and Felony Criminal mischief/property damage.
