Tallahassee, Fla. (WTXL)-- Leon County Sheriff Mike Wood has made recruiting one of his top priorities.
The Sheriff's Office is anticipating the retirement of a number of its employees in the near future and is preparing for that loss by recruiting new deputies and corrections officers.
A committee of law enforcement and corrections officers were selected to oversee the recruitment process. The diverse group of twenty-four individuals met with members of LCSO's Human Resource Unit to make sure they know the ins and outs of the recruiting process.
Sheriff Wood stated, "As we look to the future we realize the importance of bringing in new, talented individuals. I believe this program will greatly benefit the Sheriff's Office and as a result, the citizens of Leon County."
The Leon County Sheriff's Office will have recruiters at the Leon Works Expo on Friday, October 23, at the Lively Technical Center, Building 14.
