TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Nearly two weeks ago, The Leon County Humane Society stepped in to help out an animal shelter in Taylor County.
That shelter, undergoing construction, reached temperatures of over 100 degrees inside.
In order to help, the Leon County Humane Society took in 23 animals, 22 of those animals were cats.
As a result of that increased load, the shelter received help from community members. They received over 3,000 pounds of non-clumping litter, many bags and cans of the baby cat food and so many donations toward the foster kitties' medical care.
The humane society is still at full capacity and is looking for individuals to adopt animals.
