TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Before you head out trick-or-treating, you can take part in a Halloween morning race!
Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend is hosting the second annual Race for Readiness.
It's all to support early learning initiatives in ELC’s seven-county area.
Last year, organizers expected 75 people to take part, but there were 315 racegoers! They're hoping to have 500 participants this year.
The Race for Readiness is Saturday, October 31. The one-mile fun run starts at 8 a.m. and then the 5K is at 8:30 a.m. Festivities include costume contests, face painting, candy, photo booths and awards.
Every child who registers will get a preschool-aged book for free, so organizers are encouraging race-goers to bring a book to donate to the My First Books program.
Cost is $20 for adults with a shirt or $15 without. For kids, it's $5 or $10 with a shirt. Kids under 2 are free.
