TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Local group Girls on the Run is collecting peanut butter and jelly supplies, all to benefit America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Now until April 22, the organization is asking you to donate PB&J ingredients at local elementary schools all over the area. The donations must be in plastic containers.

All of the proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest backpack program, which provides consistent meals for children who qualify for free or reduced lunch, but can't always count on a meal over the weekend.

Girls on the Run is an organization that brings together young girls with coaches who help them train to run a 5K, all while teaching them how they can positively connect with and shape the world.
