TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Students from Florida State University helped families in need Saturday, providing fresh produce and non-perishable goods.

Farm Share works with Florida farmers to prevent food waste and distribute healthy food.

Saturday, they paired with FSU Peacejam to make that happen in the Capital City. Together, the groups gave out vegetables, milk, bread, and juices.

The president of Leon High School's PeaceJam said the organization is all about helping those in the community.

Muireall Brown explained, "Peace Jam is an international service organization that is intended to connect youth from all around the world with nobel peace prize laureates. It tries to instil values like volunteerism and service and political activism at an early age to get people to engage in the community  and to make the change they want to see in the world."
