TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Farm Share is hosting a special community event this week.
It's the traditional food distribution plus a health fair.
Farm share will distribute free food to residents of Leon, Gadsden, Liberty, Jefferson, Franklin and Wakulla counties. Each household will receive between 20 and 25 pounds of food.
These distributions help at least 300 families in a single weekend. Farm Share works with Florida farmers to prevent food waste and distribute healthy food, including fruit, vegetables, milk, bread, and juices, to those who need it most.
There will be several organizations providing health screenings and other information.
The Farm Share health fair & distribution is Wednesday, November 18 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Farm Share Headquarters (18212 Blue Star Highway in Quincy).
