TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The North Florida Rescue is hoping you'll kick off the new year with a new pet.

This weekend marks the 4th annual Take Me Home pet adoption.

The event features rescue dogs, puppies, cats and kittens that are looking for their forever homes.

Plus, local pet-friendly businesses will be on hand offering advice, and Be The Solution Inc., is giving away discounted spay and neuter vouchers for your pets.

Last year, 67 animals were adopted. Organizers are hoping to double that.

The Take Me Home Pet Adoption is Saturday, January 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the North Florida Fairgrounds.

There's a suggested donation of $1 per car.

You're also encouraged to bring donations like sheets, blankets, towels, dog and cat crates, dog or cat food and other supplied for local rescue groups.
