TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- This weekend marks the 7th annual Community Baby Shower, and here's a look at what we can expect.

Each year, Chi Theta Zeta's local chapter and teams up with other community agencies, like the FAMU Health Department, City of Tallahassee and March of Dimes. The Community Baby Shower provides education, support and serviceS to families who are planning to get pregnant, expecting, or already have kids. Plus, there are free items for parents to take home to care for their babies.

There's games and other fun activities, plus health vendors and speakers geared toward families, pregnant women, and new or mothers and fathers.

Organizers say it's important for health organizations to be able to "educate the community about prenatal care, reducing the risk of infant mortality and premature birth, planning for a pregnancy and emergency planning."

The Community Baby Shower is Saturday, November 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Jack McLean Community Center (700 Paul Russell Road). It's free to take part and all are invited.
