The Hope House Rescue Mission, an organization in Tallahassee which houses people in need, assists them in finding work and helps them begin their recovery back to a normal role in society, is in need of food and toy donations for their annual Christmas Dinner.
The event has been held for the past 8 years. In 2011, the Hope House fed 511 people and gave away more than 50 toys to children in need. This year, they expect nearly 600 people will attend the event, but without donations, it may not happen.
The Hope House is in need of hams, chickens and other foods, as well as toys for kids of various ages. To donate, people can go to the Hope House, 2302 West Tennessee Street.
