TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- For any event, the ultimate goals are safety and success. At the upcoming monthly meeting of the Florida Public Relations Association Capital Chapter, it's your chance to learn behind-the-scenes planning required for large scale Disney events.
The keynote speaker is Scott Nethero of Walt Disney World security
Nethero, an FSU grad, will speak on the logistics behind large scale PR events and how increased PR influences security.
According to FPRA-Capital Chapter, Nethero has been with the Disney Company since 1994. He assists with the "development, implementation and coordination of Emergency Management/Preparedness and Business Continuity Plans for the WDW Company. Nethero develops, conducts, participates and evaluates emergency management exercises and drills. Additionally, he assists in the management of the Emergency Operation Center or other incident facilities when activated.
The meeting and lunch is Thursday, October 15 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. It's at the Capital City Country Club (1601 Golf Terrace). Tickets range from $19 to $26, depending if you are a student, a member or a non-member.
