Comic Book Day Puts Tallahassee in Character

Posted

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Comic book lovers were in for a treat Saturday, in celebration of the new Marvel Studio movie, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The oldest independent bookstore in Tallahassee, "The Bookshelf," hosted it's annual free comic book day in honor of the movie and it's 35th birthday.

The comic event included free comic books, face painting, and a little character costumes.

One of the participants said the event helps keep the love for comics alive.

Jeff Davis said, "It's kind of our Christmas. It's kind of our way to give back to the community, but also it draws again new interest into the comic book world and to show what's changed over the years."

The Bookshelf is opening its second location, "The Bookshelf 2," on May 16.
