MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Another COCA Connection, where we highlight arts and culture in the community. This week's edition featured the Tallahassee Community Friends of Old-Time Dance organization and their upcoming Contra Dance event.
Contra Dance is a modern style of dance that was performed as a pastime in barns across America. This type of dance originated from English country dance and it's similar to dances performed in France, Scotland, and many other places.
The organization is encouraging the community to come enjoy live music and refreshments while learning a mixture of new and old dance moves.
This event is on Friday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tallahassee Senior Center.
