TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Even Tallahassee can be a Winter Wonderland... at least for a few hours!
The Centre of Tallahassee opened up an ice skating rink last month, and it looks like this icy spot is soon to be a holiday tradition.
Organizers say, "We have had a great response to this new feature and we are happy to say that it will return next year."
The rink features real ice, which caused some problems when there was record heat several weekends ago in Tallahassee. But officials say the problem has been fixed, and the machines are ready to keep the ice cool for a few more months of skating.
Ice skating is open select days & times, now through February 14. Check out the calendar on the left side of the screen for the schedule.
This week and next, when local schools are on winter break, the ice skating is open everyday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., except for Christmas.
The Centre of Tallahassee is located at 2415 N. Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
Skating costs $10 for a two-hour session. Everyone must sign a waiver before taking the ice. If you want to fill it out in advance, click here.
