TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Girls on the Run of the Big Bend are wrapping up another successful season, and of course the celebration needs some running to go with it!

Girls on the Run is a program that inspires girls from third grade through fifth grade to "be joyful, healthy and confident."

Nearly 100 girls just completed the fall session, and now it's time to celebrate those accomplishments.

Board members, parents, teachers, coaches, running buddies and the community are invited to support the girls as the take part in a 5K.

After the race, there's a "super girl power celebration," with festivities like face painting, a glam station, food and live music

The Girls on the Run Celebratory Fall 5K is Saturday, December 5 from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. at Premier Health Fitness Center. Tallahassee's First Lady R. Jai Gillum and the FSU women's basketball team will be on hand.

You can sign up to be a running buddy or volunteer.
