Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The biggest national fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters is back in the Big Bend!

Across the country, the annual Bowl for Kids Sake raises more than $20 million a year. In the Tallahassee area, the event brings in more than $40,000 to support community initiatives.

Louis Garcia, CEO, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend, and marketing director Alva Striplin joined us on WTXL Midday to talk about why this support is so important to the organization. Click the thumbnail to watch the complete interview.

This year's Bowling for Kids Sake and Community Day is Saturday, May 16. There are four, two-hour sessions at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. It's all at Crenshaw Lanes on FSU's campus It's $500 for a team of five to bowl, and that goes directly back to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend.
