TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Local celebrities and lawmakers took time out of their day to make a Meals on Wheels delivery to local home bound senior citizens.
It's for Elder Care Services' "Big Wheels Deliver Meals" annual event.
About 20 local celebrities took a Meals on Wheels route on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 and served a hot meal, while checking on our areas most frail and vulnerable citizens.
Organizers say it offers the participants an opportunity to experience firsthand, the importance of the Meals on Wheels program and the impact it has on our area's seniors.
Those who participated in these special deliveries today included Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, Secretary of Elder Affairs Samual Verghese, Representative Alan Williams, and Commissioners Kristin Dozier, Bryan Desloge, John Dailey and Nick Maddox.
Big Wheels Delivers Meals was again sponsored by KIA Autosport and General Manager Melanie Lee joined the local celebrities for these special deliveries.
