TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - On Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cascades Park on South Monroe in Downtown Tallahassee, the community is invited to attend a Children's Grief Awareness Day event. It's the result of a partnership between Big Bend Hospice, FSU College of Medicine, Children's Miracle Network and the United Way of the Big Bend.
Organizers say Children's Grief Awareness Day focuses on acknowledging children and teens who have experienced the death of a loved one, and reminding them that they're not forgotten in the midst of their grief.
The event will include kid-friendly activities, information tables and resources available to children, teens and their caregivers. There will also be a Remembrance Walk at 5:00 p.m. and participants are encouraged to make a free lighted "Hope Jar" for the walk.
More information can be found by calling (850) 878-5310.
