The American Cancer Society (ACS) is recruiting men and women across the United States who want to see an end to cancer. They are looking for volunteers to participate in a cancer prevention study called CPS-3.

Tallahassee has been chosen as one of the cities for this study to help them understand how lifestyles, genetics and the environment affect cancer, and how we can better prevent the disease.

ACS is holding a kickoff event for anyone interested in learning more about  the study. It is taking place on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the University Center Club.

Those eligible to participate in the study need to be between 30 and 65 years old and have never been diagnosed with cancer.
